Now, onto Quick Takes with the young cat Lord Sko, leaving his mark on our fair city.
What’s your go-to spot in NYC when you need a little hit of inspiration?
Go to spot depends tbh, inspiration be hitting me sporadically a lot of the time I just like to walk around and see sh!t on the go. Seeing the city lit up at night when u inna car on the highway is always inspirational to me. Or just walking down orchard st.
Have you stumbled upon a view in NYC that took you by surprise?
View in NY I gotta give it to 178th & Haven.
I’ve shot a bunch of content there videos album covers etc. So have a lot of people. That’s up in the heights it overlooks the GWB and I’ve spent many hours there smoking blunts and enjoying the view thru my adolescence.
What neighborhood in NYC holds a special memory for you, and what makes it significant?
Defintley my own but I’d also say the upper west side like around 100th and Broadway. I went to middle school not far from there, used to hang out at the fireman’s memorial on Riverside a bunch, Sal & Carmines is one of the best slices in the city on 102nd. Lot of nostalgic memories around that area fr.
How does being a New Yorker influence your perspective and actions in the world?
Being a New Yorker influences everything I do and makes it much easier to maneuver in other areas of the world. The pace here is just different. Mentally, Schedule wise, Transportation wise. There’s a lot to be applied wherever u go. As for the Pride that comes with being a New Yorker I feel like that comes with the territory.
Almost every real New Yorker I know is prideful, maybe even a bit too much. But with the way the city is changing and the culture is shifting especially for kids my age I Defintley feel a responsibility and sense of pride to both hold it down for NY & to help shape that shift as much as I can into something authentic and meaningful.
If you could walk the streets of NYC with any historical New Yorker for a day, who would it be and why?
Man this is a hard question. Bourdain would be dope, A$AP Yams woulda been cool, Sean Price, Basquiat. Theres too many to count. I also just realized unfortunately everyone I picked has passed away so RIP.
If you could only eat from one place in NYC for the rest of your life, which spot would it be?
I’m a sucker for L&B Spumoni Gardens not gonna lie. I feel like I’m supposed to say Lugers or sumn but that classic square at L&Bs is my favorite shit in the whole world real talk. Long as I don’t gotta make the commute haha
What’s the song to your NYC?
I’d Say either Keep it Thoro by Prodigy or ? By MF DOOM & Kurious
Any exciting projects you’re working on that you’d like us to know about?
& PIFF 2025!! Me and Statik got a project we cooking together as well.
Gonna be a big year 🙏🔮
