What’s your go to spot in NYC when you need a little hit of Inspiration?
Souk Yoga on 27th & Broadway, Rima Rabbath, Maria Cutrona & Ruth Lauer-Manenti bring me back to the values of what is.
Have you stumbled upon a new spot or view in NYC that took you by surprise
I recently went to see Amadou & Mariam the French African Musical Duo who are incredibly inspiring, they’ve been together since the 70’s and even still you can see the power of love they have for one another on stage, it’s absolutely contagious, not to mention their incredible sound together-Andrew Bird invited them to open for him on the Pier 17 Rooftop- the view was absolutely breathtaking with the Brooklyn Bridge behind the stage and the sunset /moonrise being up on the rooftop was a magnificent sensory experience.
Is there a part of town you’ve recently found a deeper appreciation for?
My new office spot has come full-circle in Greenwich Village where I started Barbara Pfister Casting.. it’s good to be HOME ❤️🍎
What’s the last NYC picture you snapped?
A photo of a boy, Gus outside my office on Minetta Lane.
Any sneaky tips or little known secrets you swear by?
I would say riding the Citibike E-bike is my best kept secret & easiest fastest mode of transportation, while still having fun. I fly in and out between Greenpoint & Manhattan (mostly downtown ) It’s another form of meditation & focus for me.
If you could only eat from one place in NYC the rest of time which spot would it be?
NYC has an abundance of incredible food as we all know so that’s a very tricky question. I would say my friend Mai’s Japanese pop-up in Greenpoint where she sold onigiri 🍙 & made the most phenomenal miso soup from scratch with chunky root vegetables never once let me down -I always leave with the biggest smile on my face.
What’s the song to your NYC?
Dancer by the Idles & LCD Soundsystem.
I love dancing & going to shows, the annual LCD Soundsystem residency is not to be missed, though I’m sad it moved from Brooklyn Steel.
Any exciting projects you’re working on you’d like for us to know?
My work is chock full of exciting projects; keep an eye on my Instagram!
